With the popularity of gift registries, couples today may find it even easier to collect what they need to start their new lives. According to TheKnot.com, over $19 billion is spent annually through wedding gift registries.

With linens as a top registry category, that can add up to a lot of sheets and towels. According to the experts at ClosetMaid, the average couple needs:

• Two sheet sets for seasonal changes and one basic white set for each bedroom

• Eight pillows (two for her, two for him and four for guests)

• Two comforters per bed (one for warmer and one for colder weather)

• One throw blanket per bed and an extra one for cozy fireplace cuddling

• Four bath towels, four hand towels and four washcloths per bathroom.

It’s also a good idea to ask for a storage system to organize all those linens.

“Your linen closet doesn’t have to be a haphazard mess of towels and blankets,” observes Susan Follick of ClosetMaid. “With the appropriate storage system, your linen closet can promote a calm sense of order and organization.”

Follick recommends ClosetMaid MasterSuite® as an elegant solution. Available in a variety of finishes including Clean White and new Antique White, it’s a custom-designed line of laminate storage systems that meet individual needs through the company’s authorized installing dealers.

“Varied shelf heights allow you to maintain the good practice of loosely folding and stacking towels to preserve their fluffiness,” says Follick. “You need about 10 inches between shelves for sheets and 15 inches for towels. Multiple shelves can accommodate small stacks, making them less likely to fall over, and allow you to keep everyday items like bath towels at eye level.”

Litter Cleaning For Cats

Almost everyone, adults and kids alike have a natural fondness for cats. They are loving, quiet, and very playful pets that can provide you with years of entertainment. Although most of us have a fondness for cats, that fondness can rapidly diminish when it comes to the litter box. Even the most hardened cat lover may get tired of litter box duty, especially when it comes down to scooping “you know what” from the litter box.

Cats are very intelligent, instinctively knowing how they should use the litter box. After the cat has finished using the litter box, someone in the family will need to scoop the waste from the litter box. This can be a very dirty and somewhat smelly job, one that is often overlooked during the day when the workload gets heavy. Cleaning up the litter box doesn’t take but a few minutes, although most would prefer not to do it at all. Although the litter box will need to be scooped out daily, it will also need to be changed once a week as well, by throwing the current bag out and replacing the box with a new bag and fresh litter.

Those who don’t like to scoop out the litter box should invest in one of the best inventions ever – the self cleaning litter box. These litter boxes are easy to use, and will keep the area clean. After the cat has used it, the self cleaning litter box will automatically clean the litter either by sifting or using a device that resembles a rake.

Self cleaning boxes that use shifting will often times have a round design. Once the cat leaves the covered box, the dome on top will revolve for the box to clean. The litter in the box will be shifted with the waste being put below the litter where it is discarded. Once the waste is properly disposed of, the litter will be returned to its normal position in the box for the cat to use again.

Boxes that have raking systems will often times sport a rectangular design. Once the cat leaves the box, the rake will automatically come out and clean the litter. The rake will clean all of the litter in the box, including the clumps of waste as well. Rakes are popular, although the shifting litter boxes are by far more popular and more common.

Those who are often times away from home could greatly benefit from a self cleaning litter box. They are great to have for cats that spend a lot of time by themselves, as they virtually eliminate any scooping of litter on your part. You can find them at your local pet or department store, even online as well. They are very affordable – and ideal for anyone who doesn’t like scooping waste from their litter box.

Linen towels is a term that applies to all types of items you use on a regular basis in your home. They are commonly found in the kitchen area. Many people use white cotton linens to dry their dishes. There is less of a chance of debris such as dust to be transferred to the dishes than with other materials. The linen towels can also be air dried and used several times before you have to wash them.

The use of linen towels in the kitchen also helps to cut down on the amount of money spend for products like paper towels. They can be used to clean off counters and to wipe up spills. Paper towels are a waste of our natural resources and so those that are environmentally conscious do all they can to cut back on their own contribution to such waste.

Many people like to embroider these linen towels to make them look nicer. Embroidery is a very simple and common form of sewing that people often find to be quite enjoyable. They may display some on the front of their oven as well just to look nice. Linen towels are also used as homemade place mats for tables as well. They can be washed and therefore they stay looking very nice.

Some families also like to use linen napkins for their meals. It adds a more elegant atmosphere and that may be something they really enjoy at meal times. It also cuts down on the waste of this type of disposable product as well just like the reduction of paper towel use.

Many individuals prefer to have a table cloth on their table as well. Linens made from cotton are very popular. They are affordable and they can transform the look of your kitchen or dining room. Some feature designs while others are just plain. White linen tablecloths used to be all there was but more colors have emerged for sale over the years.
If you have an older table but it is a good size for your family or you can’t justify the expense of a new on, covering it with a linen tablecloth is worth the $20 investment.

Towels are used in the kitchen almost daily in most homes. They are used to wash off tables and countertops. They are also use to clean dishes and then to dry them off. It is very important to wash kitchen towels on a regular basis though. You can end up contaminating other areas of the kitchen when you wash bacteria and they wipe some place else.

For this reason it is recommended that you use a different towel for washing dishes than you do for wiping off the counters. This is going to result in you having more laundry to do but ask anyone who has suffered from food poisoning and they will tell you they will take a few extra loads of laundry over it any day.

Kitchen towels come in many sizes to help you get the work done easier. Small towels that are square in shape are used to wash the dishes because they allow you to get deep into the crevices of the glasses and other items. Larger ones are used for drying the dishes though so they can absorb more water. Cotton kitchen towels work best for drying the dishes even though they are thin.

Many individuals like everything in their kitchen to match so they buy towels that are a good fit for the décor. Since kitchen towels are found in just about any color this won’t pose a problem for you. There are even kitchen towel sets that come with many of each size for you to use. There should always be a stack of clean kitchen towels for you to reach for.

You can customize some of your kitchen towels too with various types of embroidery patterns. This can be a fun way to take them from being ordinary to really fitting into the lifestyle you live. The kitchen is one of the most used rooms in a home so it is important for you to pay attention to the details that will make it perfect for you.

Kitchen towels are very affordable too so look for those that offer you excellent quality. You don’t want to have to replace them all time because they aren’t durable enough for the work you are doing with them.

Incisions and Scaring

Surgery leaves scars. While most breast augmentation incisions do heal well, a rate of 6-7% of unfavorable scaring has been reported for primary augmentation patients in FDA clinical trials.

The extent of the scaring can be determined by many factors. These include the patients ethnicity, smoking, tissue quality, suture material, wound tension, tissue trauma from surgery and the individuals tendency toward favorable wound healing.

The type of incision also affects the amount and visibility of scaring. The type of planned incision should be discussed with your surgeon prior to the procedure.

The most common incision for silicone gel implants is the inframammary incision. This affords maximum access for precise dissection and placement of an implant. The incision is placed below the breast in the infra-mammary fold. This incision can leave slightly more visible scars in smaller breasts which dont drape over the IMF.

Transaxillary incisions are placed in the armpit. This allows the implants to be placed without visible scars on the breasts. Its also more likely to consistently achieve symmetry of the inferior implant position.

Periareolar incisions are placed along the areolar border. The incision is usually placed around the inferior half of the areolas circumference. Because of the incision length required, silicone gel implants can be hard to place using this method. These scars are often less visible in women with lighter areolar pigment since they occur on the edge of the areola. There is a higher chance of capsular contracture with this incision.

With any surgery there will be scars, but keep in mind that most breast augmentations will heal well. You’ll find that there is only a six percent change that you may have some undesirable scaring. You’ll want to think about the chances that you are putting yourself in and then consider your options before you make any rash decisions.

The extent of the scaring can be determined by many factors. Some of the factors include rather or not the patient is a smoker, the tissue quality, ethnicity, tissue quality, suture material, tension to wound, and tissue trauma. Also, you’ll find that your own likeliness of recovering quickly will also make a different in rather or not you have a favorable healing.

The type of incision also affects the amount and visibility of scaring. The type of planned incision should be discussed with your surgeon prior to the procedure.

The inframammary incision is one of the most common incisions for the silicone gel implants. This affords maximum access for precise dissection and placement of an implant. The incision is placed below the breast in the infra-mammary fold. The fact is that it can leave a visible scar for those who have smaller breasts, because they do not drape over the IMF properly.

Transaxillary incisions are placed in the armpit. This is what is needed in order for the implants to be placed inside the breast without any visible scars. It’s also more likely to consistently achieve symmetry of the inferior implant position.

The areolar border is where the periareolar incisions are placed. You will find that when it comes to placement, the incision is placed around the inferior half of the circumference pertaining to the areola. You will want to keep in mind that the length of the incision required for silicone implants, it can be hard to use this method of implanting. You will find that the scares are less visible when a woman has some lighter areolar pigment. Keep in mind that this incision will also increase the capsular contracture.

Hose reels are to watermelons as sunshine to a daisy. If your want prize watermelons, buy them a cool hose holder. Watermelons are very fashion conscious vegetables. Noting makes them sweeter than a sexy motor driven hose reel – with a chauffer. It’s not like watermelons just sit around all day with nothing to do. A recent survey showed watermelons prefer cool hose reels to splash around with ten to one. They get very upset when their motor driven hose reel wants to sleep all day long.

How to Grow Watermelon – Hose Reels Guide
Imagine the most mouth watering watermelon you ever tasted in your life. Then stop to honor the lowly hose holder that watered your prize melon. Growing a prize watermelon is a bit like pig farming. I worked on a pig farm once and we had crummy water hose reels. The pigs didn’t care much… The minute those pigs saw the hose holder, they came running to cool off on a
hot day.
OK, so a baby watermelon doesn’t come running when it sees a motor driven hose reel, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings too.

Prize Watermelons – Hose Holder Tips
OK, it’s been two weeks and your watermelons already sprouted up and are ready to spread their vines among your hose reels…your cute little melons are THIRSTY!… Most experts agree watermelons grown with a motor driven hose reel are disease resistant and hose reel color is a concern of theirs. So choose gaily painted hose holders, hose reels and motor driven hose reels to grow prize winning melons.

Hose Reels – Color Recommendations
Red hose reel turns out a feisty melon
Brown hose holder a sensitive, but dull melon
Orange motor driven hose reel – great seeds to spit
Yellow hose reel – gives a tummy ache
Blue hose holder – artist, writer or musician
Green hose reel – greedy, selfish melon
Black motor driven hose reel – generous, good dancer

Your average watermelon weighs in at about 20 – 30 pounds or so. Feed the same watermelon with a designer hose holder and it may reach fifty pounds! Odd shaped hose reels lead to weird shaped watermelons… Bush Baby watermelons raised around motor driven hose reels and are very hardy melons. If you have a short growing season, plant seedlings indoors near hose reels in little containers or pots. Your trusty hose reel can moisten the peat pots to reduce transplant shock.

Enlarging Your Bosoms With Surgery – An Overview

One of the more popular plastic surgery procedures involves breast enlargements. Let us take a closer look at the type of procedures available.

Enlargements are often thought to be the most popular form of plastic surgery. In truth, it is the third most popular procedure and covers more option than most people consider at first blush.

The procedure is technically known as augmentation mammaplasty. It involves the placement of an implant into both breasts for the purpose of enlarging and shaping the breasts. The earliest form of this procedure was undertaken in the 1860s in Germany with fatty tissue from the body used to perform the enhancement. As time passed, silicone implants became the implant of choice, leading to one of the most contentious debates in medical science. Ultimately, the silicone implants were banned in 1992 by the Federal Drug Administration. Improved design and further medical research has led to the reintroduction of some silicone implants and the FDA is considering approving further models.

There are several techniques used in enhancements and you should discuss the best option with your plastic physician. Nonetheless, the options are sub-glandular where the implant is placed in the body of the breast, sub-muscular for small chested individuals where the implant is placed below the musculature, and sub-fascial where the implant is placed between the muscle and outer fascial. The specific procedure is dependent upon the pre-existing conditions each person has.

A second issue that you need to keep in mind is the type of incursion technique. Specifically, where will the surgeon create an incursion in the body to put the implants? The axillary approach involves creating an incision in the arm pit and bringing the implant in from the side. Peri-Areolar involves an incision around the lower half of the nipple, in a semi-circle format. The Infra-mammary approach involves an actual incision into the lower flesh area. The incursion technique should be discussed carefully with your surgeon, particularly as it pertains to scarring issues. Incisions result in scars, and even tiny ones have to be taken into account.

The decision to have enlargement surgery necessarily involves a lot of choices. Make sure to fully discuss the options, risks and benefits with your physician to determine if the surgery is appropriate for you and the best option to get a result you are happy with in the future.

Embossed Votive Holder Shade
Create the look of a Stained Glass Votive Holder
Supplies Needed:
Most items can be found in the Scrap booking/Stamping section of your local craft store.
Straight-Sided Clear Glass Votive Holder
Vellum

Craft Markers of various colors
Hole Punch
Decorative String
Embossing Powder in your choice of color
Versamark Ink Pad
Embossing Heat Tool
Scissors
Tape Measure or Ruler

1. Measure the height and circumference of your Glass votive holder with a tape measure or ruler. Use these measurements to cut out a piece of vellum. It is important to make sure that the vellum does not extend past the top of the votive holder because this will increase the risk of a fire hazard.

2. After you have planned your design with your stamp(s), use the Versamark ink to stamp the design onto the vellum. At this point the design will be clear.
3. Now sprinkle the embossing powder onto the stamped design. Turn the vellum upright and make sure all stray powder has been shaken or tapped off. Also make sure that your entire design has been covered in powder. You will be able to see this because the embossing powder will stick to the design that you stamped with the Versamark inkpad.

4. Use your Embossing Heat Tool to heat the powder. But be careful because the heat tool can get VERY hot! You will now have a beautiful raised design of the stamp you chose! Let cool for 1-2 minutes.

5. Now you can just color inside of the design on the opposite side of the vellum. Darker Colors look better for this as they give a bolder appearance when the candle is lit. Allow to dry for aproximately 5 minutes or the colors may smear.

6. Finally, use your hole punch to make holes in the center of the shortest sides of the vellum. Run your string through these holes and tie around your votive holder!
