In this coming year the Holy Father and Our Lady both call us to the same journey of faith! The period from October 11 to November 24, 2012 Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed a jubilee year of faith, called "The Door of Faith" in which the Church wishes to mark 50 years since the beginning of the 2nd Vatican Council. "The Year of Faith is an invitation for a true and renewed conversion to the Lord, the true Savior of the world", suggesting the need for "reinventing the faith journey, to discover the charm of the word of God!" - Benedict XVI. With sincere wishes that under Mary's motherly mantle you continue “Witnessing the love of God and his works with our own words and life," we thank all of you and wish "that your faith always stays alive and joyful in the love of God!" (September 25, 2010). WISHING YOU A MERRY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND A 2012 FILLED WITH THE GRACE OF FAITH! |

Christmas is slowly approaching. That is announced by a frequent Christmas concerts and various performances and events. The children in our kindergarten made their own CHRISTMAS EVENT. The most dedicated and the most enthusiastic viewers were of course their parents. Through joyous Christmas songs all groups of children had their chance to perform and individual small singers. Looking around everyone was seeking an encouragement from their mum or dad, and really it was nice to see that our good God has given us parents (and also to a baby Jesus in the manger) who will always be support and help in our life's journey. At the beginning of the event Fr Svetozar gave everyone a warm welcome, and in her welcoming speech the principal Julija said that "Christmas always awakens in us the joy and brings that special peace, peace that cannot be replaced by expensive gifts, lavish tables - because that is not Christmas. Christmas happens within us, is born in our hearts... The requirement that we could receive Christmas is the same for all: PURE AND INNOCENT HEART like our children who will now transfer a part of that joy. MAY THE CHRISTMAS PEACE AND JOY FILL OUR HEART, LET US BEAR AND BE JOY FOR ONE ANOTHER!" |

On Thursday, December 8 at 11 am in the small hall of Mother’s Village was very cheerful. All children from kindergarten gathered together in joyful anticipation: "There will be a play!" - you could hear whispering around! And there was a play indeed. It was called "WHO STOLE THE CHRISTMAS GIFTS?” performed by the actors from the National Theatre Mostar (Sandra K. Soldo, Robert Pehar and Nikolina Maric). Joyful, interactive play text and excellent performances of the protagonists have contributed to the fact that the children really empathized in the play, responding, laughing at the end dancing along with the actors. They have learned something, too: that is very healthy to eat CARROT and how happy they are to have moms and dads and they are not alone on Christmas Day! |

This year St. Nicholas seems to have been at too many places. So, the children were a little bit saturated, because they are seeing him in churches, at the shopping malls, on television, in the streets... as a result the former expectation has been lost somehow, then the surprise and rapture when he, pompous as he is, sets down from the roof of the kindergarten. However, meeting children and St. Nicholas is always nice. Together they sang, and then straight from Nicholas got his bishop's blessing. He came in every kindergarten group and shared them gifts, each of them personally put in his lap and thoughtfully examined how did he/she behave last year? All children promised to be good and listen to their parents, and St. Nicholas will come again next year to check on them. |

Fr Slavko was a man of prayer, but also the man of works. For several years in a row, the anniversary of Fr Slavko’s death in Mother’s Village aside from prayer is marked by the the actual work: an art exhibition of children's works prepared in our art workshop. Under the leadership of academic artists Marijela Zelic, Jasmina Runje and Marko Saravanja, from the beginning of the school year the children are included in the active work of preparing and painting. The aim of the exhibition is to introduce children new techniques in visual art: the silk work and work with acrylic paint. The choice of motif was left to the children’s imagination. Leaders of the exhibition point out that the motivation of children, creativity in the choice of motifs and security by which they wanted to show something, are an indicator of maturation of the children and the biggest move of this exhibition regarding to the previous year. |
